Biker flung into the air after collision with car in KK

KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist fortunately survived an accident where he was flung into the air after a car rammed into his vehicle at Kolombong near here on Friday (Sept 9).

The 8.20am incident was captured on a dashboard camera of another car and a 26-second video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

Kota Kinabalu deputy OCPD Supt Kalsom Idris said the motorcyclist was crossing a traffic light junction when the car hit the motorcycle.

"The motorcyclist was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital II for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition," she said.

Supt Kalsom said the case was being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

In the video, the car also crashes into another motorcyclist who manages to pick himself up after the collision.
